Website Response Time Test
Measure DNS, connection, TLS, TTFB and HTML transfer timing for a public website request.
Understand the phases
DNS finds the address. TCP connect establishes the connection; TLS secures HTTPS. TTFB is cumulative time until the first response byte. HTML transfer measures time after that byte until the response completes. Total is the complete request duration.
Choose the right next investigation
High DNS time suggests resolver or authoritative DNS delays. A slow connection can reflect distance or network trouble. High TTFB often warrants checking origin work, caching and reverse-proxy timings. Compare repeated measurements before attributing a cause.
This is not a browser speed score
The tool does not load images, stylesheets or JavaScript, render a page, or measure real-user Core Web Vitals. It measures one HTML response from this monitoring location, with a ten-second request budget and a bounded response size.
Common questions
Can I compare this with a browser load event?
They measure different things. Browser load includes resources and execution that this request does not perform.
How do I avoid alerts for one slow request?
Page-speed monitors require three consecutive slow samples before degradation, and report it separately from availability.
