Login2Cloud Monitor

SSL MONITORING

Catch certificate problems before visitors do

Track certificate validity, hostname match, issuer and days remaining with staged expiration warnings.

Warnings that progress

Thresholds at 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 day are each delivered once per certificate.

Independent checks

Use a dedicated certificate monitor or inspect TLS alongside website monitoring.

Verify the hostname and certificate

A dedicated SSL check connects to the validated public host on port 443 with peer and hostname verification. Successful checks expose issuer, subject and expiry information. A failed handshake is reported as a TLS problem; it is not replaced with an invented expiry date.

Plan renewal before the warning becomes urgent

Warnings progress through 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 day remaining, with each threshold deduplicated per certificate. Identify who renews the certificate and verify deployment afterward. Automatic renewal still deserves monitoring because challenges, permissions or deployment can fail.

Diagnose a TLS failure

Confirm that the configured hostname is covered by the certificate and that the server presents a valid chain. Review expiry and deployment on the actual endpoint, including a proxy or load balancer. Restoring trust requires correcting the endpoint; increasing an HTTP timeout does not repair a certificate.

Track domain renewal separately

Certificate expiry and domain registration expiry are independent. A valid certificate does not prove that a domain will renew successfully, and a renewed domain does not extend a certificate. Use separate monitors and verify registration dates with the registrar when public data is unavailable.

Common questions

Will Login2Cloud renew my certificate?

No. It observes certificate health and sends configured warnings; your certificate provider or renewal process performs the renewal.

Should I keep an SSL monitor when I already have HTTP monitoring?

A dedicated SSL monitor provides a focused expiry signal, while an HTTP monitor observes the application response. They answer related but different questions.
