SSL Certificate Checker
Check a public website certificate for trust, hostname matching, issuer and expiry.
Read validity and expiry separately
An unexpired certificate can still be invalid because its hostname does not match or its chain is not trusted. The result includes available certificate details, not an assurance that every client will trust the service.
Resolve common certificate problems
For expiry, renew through your certificate provider and deploy the renewed certificate at the endpoint serving HTTPS. For hostname errors, issue for the correct hostname. For trust errors, inspect the served chain and intermediate certificates.
Check again after renewal
Load balancers, CDNs and origin servers may use different certificates. Recheck the public hostname visitors use after deployment. Certificate expiry is separate from domain-registration expiry.
Common questions
Is an SSL certificate the same as domain renewal?
No. These are independent expiration dates. Renewing one does not renew the other.
Does this scan every TLS setting?
No. It checks certificate connection, trust, hostname and available expiry details. It is not a comprehensive cryptographic configuration audit.
