Redirect Checker

Follow a public URL through up to five redirects and inspect each HTTP status in the chain.

Read the chain in order

Each row is a request and its returned status. A short intentional redirect from HTTP to HTTPS or an old path to a replacement can be normal. Repeated host or path changes add requests and complicate troubleshooting.

Fix loops and unnecessary hops

Compare redirect rules at your CDN, reverse proxy and application. Conflicting rules for HTTPS, hostnames or trailing slashes can send visitors back and forth. Update links to point directly to the intended canonical destination.

Bounded and public destinations only

Every hop passes destination validation. Private addresses and unsafe destinations stop the check. The tool follows at most five redirects within one request budget; it does not run JavaScript or meta-refresh redirects. Query strings are omitted from displayed URLs and monitor prefills.

Common questions

Why did the chain stop before reaching my site?

It may exceed the redirect limit, time out, or lead to a destination that the public network policy rejects.

Does a permanent redirect guarantee indexing?

No. It is a signal; search engines also consider content, canonical links and other indexing conditions.
