DNS Checker

Look up A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS and TXT records for a public domain.

Read the answer by record type

A and AAAA identify IP addresses. CNAME is an alias, MX routes email, NS identifies nameservers and TXT publishes text such as verification or email policies. An empty answer can be normal for a record your domain does not use.

When an answer looks wrong

Compare the hostname and record type with your DNS provider. Check authoritative nameservers, spelling and the previous record’s TTL. Recursive caches may retain old answers until their TTL expires.

Limits of this lookup

This checker reports the answers available to this service. It does not measure worldwide propagation or validate DNSSEC. A successful lookup does not prove the website behind an address is healthy.

Common questions

Why is there no AAAA record?

The domain may not publish IPv6 service. That alone is not a DNS failure.

Can DNS return more than one IP?

Yes. Multiple addresses can support redundancy or traffic distribution. Verify the set against your intended configuration.
